The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) is another pathway which allows Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate to Canada.
Every Canadian province (except Quebec,) and two territories have their own unique Provincial Nominee Programs. Provinces with PNP programs have their own selection criteria to find immigrants with skills that the province needs. The PNP program is based on agreement between provinces and federal government. The provinces select the candidates and nominate them and IRCC processes their federal PR applications.
Candidates must first enter the Express Entry Pool and then apply to a PNP program. The applicant remains in pool for a year or till they receive the Invitation to apply for PR.
After the province processes the PNP application, the applicant will be granted 600 points to their overall Express Entry score. With these additional 600 points, the applicant will then receive the ITA and will apply for PR.
